Hi folks...

just trying  to figure out how this works....anyway here goes...back to teaching then off for the summer...have a new painting finished...will post new ones when ready.Have wonderful students as usual ...feel very fortunate to be helping these souls dig into their inner Artist ...it always surprises them that it IS in there!!! till next time ....Barb

Hi...long time now talk...well, these days I've been introduced to a new media.... fusion glass...its lots of fun and hard work but a wonderful new way to be creative....I've been assisting a local Artist here in Cape Breton.. ...Brent Harding Metal Glass Media ....he has been creating with glass for many years and is training me ...we do pendants, which I am helping him with, and besides his stained glass art, he has developed a new art form with crushed glass (fusion glass) ...beautiful work has evolved from his creative endevours.. we just returned from Salt Scapes Expo in Halifax,the largest craft show in Atlantic Canada....we did well ..it was my first big show... it was incredible!!!!!...and there will be many more ..as well as the Curise ships...I will have an assortment of my works (in print form) there also....He can be found at metalglassmedia.com

As for my painting? ....a new model has come my way ...so over the summer we will be Artist and muse ...so looking forward to working on some new originals and Abstract will be in there as well....as you know My forte is the human form....reciently I've explored other subjects but I always come back to my first love as a painter....will keep you posted on my progress in both medias......Barb

Hi all...just thought I'd drop a note in here...starting a new series for the Fall....Celtic Colours here in Cape Breton....the theme is fairies,nymphs and woodland folk lore relating to our Celtic roots ...can't wait to get started the show will be hosted at the Center for Craft and Design Gallery in Sydney ...looking forward to Spring....it is sneaking in finally!!!!! ....finished a commission of a portrait this week..it was well accepted ...don't do many portraits now...too stressful and rather boring........concentrating on developing my own ideas...talk soon...and best wishes to all...Barb

whats new..

Just taught my first 2 classes for this semester...was wonderful as usual....fun to feel the excitement as the students get back into the paint box and set up the canvas...a new challenge a new beginning...for us all....love being a part of it all....
